Citizen’s New App Allows U.S. Users To Contact Safety Agents For A Fee

A new app, Citizen App, has been rolled out to allow U.S. users to contact safety agents and avoid getting arrested or worse for a fee starting at $5 per incident. Citizen is an app that allows users to report safety concerns directly to local authorities. Reports are submitted using text, photos/video, etc., and instantly delivered to on-duty law enforcement officers in their area.

Citizen App boasts a private platform that does not collect user data while submitting reports, which are then delivered to local law enforcement in real-time. Citizen also allows users to rate the quality of each response, providing feedback for both concerned citizens and authorities.

Citizen believes that the high number of arrests in the United States is because many people don’t know how to get help fast enough when they see criminal activity happening next to them. Citizen believes that their app provides a way to get help immediately and for a fee starting at $5 per incident, which is charged via the Citizen app, not on your phone bill or credit card.

  • People can contact safety agents if they are in witnessing criminal activity
  • The agent contacts you with instructions on how to proceed
  • The safety agent will coordinate with local authorities
  • Citizen says that the high number of arrests in the USA is because people don’t know how to get help in time
  • Citizen believes their app provides a way to contact agents who can help if criminal activity happens nearby
  • Citizen charges $5 per incident for users, which is charged via the Citizen app and not on your phone bill or credit card
  • Citizen says that their app will reduce crime because people can contact agents who can help if criminal activity happens nearby.

On the other hand, Citizen does not replace 911 or other emergency services. Citizen is designed for users who feel unsafe and discreetly connect with the proper authorities but do not need immediate assistance. Citizen App also can’t be used by anonymous individuals. Today Citizen announced that it has partnered with the National Weather Service (NWS) to deliver severe weather alerts to Citizen users in real-time. Citizen App users can now receive alerts for incoming storms that could cause property damage and other dangerous conditions. Citizen is the only app that will provide alerts from NOAA radar and Citizen users. Citizen is available as a free download in the App Store and Google Play Market.
